I started out trying to write an insightful reflection of what i've learnt today,
then i realised what i really need now is to just
spit everything on my mind out.
1)
'Once upon time..' seems like such a foreign phrase even though the words have been read to us so frequently during our childhood days.
Perhaps, we have learnt that life isn't as black and
white as it is in the fairytale books; bad people don't lock you up in a tall tower and cut your longggg hair when you meet your prince charming; neither do they dress like your grandma and try to eat you up, nor do they have rotten black teeth and give out shiny red (poisoned) apples.
Life is sooooo much more complex than that.
Two-/three-/infinite- faced people, back-/front-/side- stabbers, and
double-/triple-/quadraple- crossing
incomprehensible human beings exist.
How else can i say it, life is just..
life.
2)
'Happily ever after' doesn't come just because you lock eyes with a
*Prince Charming
*. Cause like in Shrek, Prince Charming could after all be Prince
Dense/Vain (or both). Or you could just be cock-eyed (where you fail to see he is actually the Old Man/Evil Villain), in that case he isn't Prince Charming to begin with.
3) Have you ever realised that if
Little Red Riding had gone to school, she would have learnt not to talk to strangers? And if she had
opened her eyes a bit bigger and scrutinized more, she would have known it was the wolf and not her grandma in the bed?
4) I have never watched The Lion King, or Pochahontas before.
Am i deprived?
and 5) is more
personal.
5) Once upon a time, i thought i met my
*Prince Charming
*. I was bent on making babies with him (after being legally married of course) and spending life
till my last breath with him. And then i realise that perhaps, i was cock-eyed/ too myopic to realise that (no he was'nt dense nor was he vain) he was like a TV while i was a radio; pretty entertaining on our own, but we don't go well together. Just because.
Perhaps if i had scrutinized more, i would have realised it sooner. Before i actually set my
♥ on him.
Maybe i should just go watch Barbie for some
'I Am An Empowered Girl' action.
